Carp streamers swimming in the Japanese sky are beautiful.

In Japan, so-called "Golden Week" is coming up. It's a series of holidays from the end of April to the beginning of May.
In addition to summer holidays (called "
obon") and winter holidays (called "
shogatsu"), Golden Week is a good chance for Japanese people to make a trip or go back to their hometown.
One of the holidays in Golden Week is Children's Day. Originally it was called Boy's Festival and was for celebrating boys' growing up, but now it has become a day to celebrate children in general.
On this day, families with boys fly koinobori (carp streamers, in the picture) and set out dolls for the Boy's Festival, patterned after worriors and heroes. Like dolls for the Girl's Festival, parents or relatives buy the doll to celebrate the birth of a boy.
