Curry-udon is a kind of udon (one type of Japanese noodles) with curry soup.
The curry soup is improved to go with Udon. It's actually very different from Indian curry.
When curry-udon was created in Meiji era (1868 - 1912), it was a weird dish. Today, however, it's a common dish you can eat at any Udon stores in Japan.
As people hate making a stain of curry soup when eating, some stores serve an apron made of paper to a customer.
At
Konaya, the famous curry-udon store chain, a cup of rice is also served with curry-udon to enjoy the curry soup to the last drop.
After eating curry-udon, you put the cup of rice into the bowl in which the soup is left. You mix them and enjoy the rice with the soup.
